Danny O'Brien is regarded as one of Australia's most astute young horse trainers with an exceptional training record and strike rate. Danny's experience, 'hands on' approach and professionalism is what makes racing a horse with Danny so rewarding.

Raised on a property which bred and reared racehorses, Danny’s love of the animal commenced as a child. His thirst for knowledge and passion of horses continued as he worked alongside some of Australia’s top trainers. In just 10 years, Danny O’Brien has the results having already accomplished numerous Group and Stakes winning victories throughout Australia with horses such as Porto Roca, Glamour Puss, Valedictum, Demerger, Ferocity, Gold Wells, Blessum and Tall Timbers to name a few.

Danny has received multiple nominations for the prestigious Fred Hoysted Trainers Awards including the 2003/04 Fred Hoysted Trainer of the Year for the most outstanding training performance achieved on Victorian racetracks. He also got runner-up in the 2004 VRC Melbourne Cup Carnival "Trainer of the Carnival" Award.

Danny keeps his team to a number he himself can monitor and all clients have the benefit of dealing personally with the man himself. So successful is Danny’s operation that leading Thoroughbred Racing and Melbourne Cup Sponsor, Emirates, have secured his services through sponsorship to assist with their promotion of racing in Australia.

Located trackside at racing’s headquarters, Flemington Racecourse, Danny O’Brien’s Racing Stables, are situated adjacent to the famous 3200m Melbourne Cup start. A 5 star, state-of-the-art, thoroughbred training complex, Danny O’Brien’s Racing Stables provide the very best accommodation and training environment for horses and including over 50 custom built stables, large, open, covered day yards, a walking machine - sand rolls, access to Flemington’s 5 training tracks including sand, grass and ViscoRide, swimming pool and on-site staff accommodation.
